“No More Denying”, took more than one year to compose, record and mix. We had numerous obstacles facing us in the completion of “No More Denying”. I feel that it was a test of my faith to see if I had the courage to continue.
First, we went through a numerous studio upgrades in the earlier stages of composing. The studio received a major acoustical treatment upgrade as well as recording equipment upgrades. We also received an endorsement with Rode microphones and the K2 became my main vocal recording microphone.
Second, Byron Santo who is my music collaborator/co producer had surgery on his right hand thumb. That delayed the recording progress an additional three months due to recovery and therapy.
The most tragic obstacles were the natural disasters of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita upon New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. We were displaced from our homes and studio for 6 weeks and unsure if we actually had anything to return home to. The mix-down finally resumed 2 months after our return home due to numerous home repairs and the assessment of my destroyed business.
During the early stages of “No More Denying” Byron and I decided that the song needed an “edge”. We asked Six Wammie Award Nominations and internationally acclaimed guitarist/educator Ney Mello, to play the guitar solos which he gladly accepted. Ney truly put his heart into the guitar solos. His creativity and technical mastery of both acoustic and electric guitars are quite simply, Amazing! Guitar-great Al DiMeola had this to say: “Ney is clearly a unique and inspired artist who must be heard!”
By the Grace of God this song is finally finished and the lyrical message can be spread throughout the world, to accept Jesus into our lives and to stop denying him. People ask the question "Does he really love me that much"? I am here to tell you, HE DOES!
